The artist and poet John Morgan was born in North London in 1947.
Between 1952 and 1965 he attended schools in London and West Sussex.
He started writing poetry in 1960 and began to paint in 1963.
From 1965 until 1969 he studied in London for a B.Ed degree in Art, Education and Sociology. His first solo exhibition of paintings was held in London in 1972.
He taught on the Isle of Dogs, East London from 1969 until 1975.
Between 1976 and 1988 John worked diversely as a gardener, dustman and sports groundsman whilst continuing to paint and write.
In 1982 he married his long-time soul mate Jennifer and in 1988 they moved to the West Country so that John could pursue his passions for painting and poetry full-time.
In a career spanning five decades John Morgan has sold almost all of the paintings he has produced, via more than a score of solo exhibitions.
He has become a sought after guest speaker and has produced three anthologies of poetry.
